The Minnesota Kyudo Renmei is proud to host the 2011 American Kyudo Seminar. While there are many details yet to work out, we would like to announce the schedule that has been approved by the All Nippon Kyudo Federation.
Letters & ApplicationsWe are happy to post the letters of invitation, seminar and test applications and the waiver form for the 2011 American Kyudo Seminar. Please remember that all applications must be signed by the president of a member renmei of the American Kyudo Renmei (AKR). Those who perform rissha must include with the application documents a doctor's note specifying the reason they cannot kneel. All documents are due to the MNKR no later than May 27, 2011, the address is listed in the paperwork. There will be no late registration this year. Registration will offer the opportunity to purchase extra nights in the dorm or extra tickets for the banquet.
ScheduleParticipants should to arrive the day before their seminar begins. We are looking for as many volunteers as possible to come early to help setup the dojo, it will be particularly challenging this year and the more hands we have the better.

Dojo tear down will begin after the conclusion of the rank examination on Friday and may need to continue through Saturday morning.
LocationCarleton College, Northfield, Minnesota. The closest airport is Minneapolis/St Paul International Airport. Northfield is a town of about 17,000 people that plays host to two small liberal arts colleges, the Malt-O-Meal factory and many other businesses and non-profit organizations. It is strongly recommended that you ship your equipment ahead of time rather than trying get it on the plane with you. Airlines typically charge very high fees for carrying yumi, and some forbid them entirely. We have arranged for the college to accept shipments of equipment. They will store the boxes received in a secure storage room until participants arrive. The shipping address will be included with registration information.
Travel InformationThe closest airport is the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP). We have arranged for Northfield Lines to provide transportation to/from the airport to the campus. Participants will be assigned to a shuttle once they submit their transportation details, shuttle costs are included in the seminar fees.Once you have made your travel arrangements, please complete the Travel Information form below. We would like all travel information no later than June 15th, so that we can arrange for the appropriate transportation to/from the airport. We will contact you in mid-July to inform you of your shuttle arrangement details. Housing InformationHousing is provided in an air-conditioned on-campus dormitory. Single and Double rooms are available. Please indicate on your seminar application if you would prefer a single or a double room, noting the difference in pricing. We have a limited number of single rooms, they will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis to those who have submitted their seminar application with deposit.Seminar fees include housing from the night before your first seminar day with checkout on Friday afternoon after the shinsa. Those attending the standard 3-day seminar will have housing for Monday - Thursday evenings, however those attending the Advanced Seminar will have housing from Sunday - Thursday evenings. Additional nights in a double room is $30/person per night, additional nights in a single room are $50/person per night.
Those who would like to stay additional nights in the dorm should complete appropriate section of the Housing Form below. Everyone staying in a double room should also complete the Housing Form to indicate a roommate preference or provide general housing preferences so that we can place people appropriately.
